This chart was written for the great Puerto Rican conguero Ray Barreto. Ray Barretto moved effortlessly between Latin and jazz as was evident in his many recordings with jazz luminaries during his distinguished career. Papo Vazquez combines the traditional rhythms of Ray's homeland with the American art form of jazz, penning a composition with the percussion playing a Yubá form of bomba, framed in a jazz/blues feel. Included with this chart is a detailed percussion part and a percussion key.
