Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement

Description: Swing - Medium Difficult

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

This is one of most famous vocal studio orchestra arrangements, recorded by Dean Martin in 1960. Nelson Riddle created a marvelous swing arrangement to showcase Dean. The arrangement was originally written by Riddle in the key of Eb; the key was lowered a half step to D for the recording. In addition, the instrumentation was originally 2 violin parts, viola, and 2 celli. A 3rd violin part has been added that is a combination of the first two violins (divisi throughout). An optional synthesizer part has been included that may be used in place of the strings; however, we highly recommend using string players. There are no saxophone doubles. The vocal key is D.

Please note: This publication has been prepared directly from Nelson Riddle's original score and the parts used during the recording session - this is not a transcription.
