An aggressive, driving straight-eighths chart that features guitar and alto 1 (solos in both), and the drums toward the end. The arrangement centers around modern harmony, rich textures, and an exciting rhythmic motif. Of particular interest is the bombastic trumpet soli with no rhythm section, as well as the funky sax/guitar soli. 5 tpts, 5tbns, no doubles. Trumpet high notes are mostly B & Cs with a couple of D's and E's. Commissioned by the Wetlake Jazz Ensemble in Austin, TX, and recorded on Lab 2006 by the UNT One O'clock Lab Band North Texas Jazz). Med-difficult.
