This arrangement combines rhythmically active, independently
layered section lines with lush harmonic tutti ensemble playing. The saxes get a great work out on a progressively syncopated unison melody line. The solo sections are both modal in nature, but over varied odd metered sections. The composition also goes between a double time swing feel and a half time 12/8 afro-cuban feel. This piece is great for pushing melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic boundaries of your ensemble.
