Dave Liebman is known as one of the top saxophonists in our time with a reputation for independence and the ability to perform in a wide variety of musical settings. As a sideman he established himself in the 1970s playing and recording with Miles Davis and Elvin Jones.

In addition to his performing career Liebman is widely recognized as a prolific author and educator having written several books, numerous articles for periodicals, and published several instructional DVDs and play-alongs. Among the best known are A Chromatic Approach to Jazz Melody and Harmony, Developing a Personal Saxophone Sound, and Self Portrait of a Jazz Artist. He is the founder and Artistic Director of The International Association of Schools of Jazz, a multiple Grammy nominee, and recipient of several grants and awards including the IAJE Hall of Fame.

So says Mr. Liebman, and when this teacher happens to be a phenomenal saxophonist who emphasizes teaching, and who has played with many of the brightest stars in the jazz world over nearly 4 decades, one has a truly unique and invaluable learning tool indeed.
