SPEAK LOW

ARRANGED BY ROB MCCONNELL

In the jazz life over the years this wonderful song by Kurt Weill (1944), has more often than not been played at a fast tempo. This chart is quite slow (quarter note = 108) with a 12/8 feel. This orchestration of Rob's is of an arrangement of George Shearings' (with some input from Neil Swainson, Rob's good friend, and his bassist of the last 15 years or so.) As with a lot of musical things that George has been doing for years, this version of "Speak Low" really sounds like "Speak Low". Go figure! No score. Scored for A, T, T, 2 Trpts, 2 Trbns, & Rhythm. As recorded by the Rob McConnel Tentet on "Thank You, Ted."
