"Sound Position" was written in 1993 by Tom Boras who was the Director of Jazz Studies at New York University. This is great chart to feature soloists. You can open it up for your 2nd Tenor and 4th Trpt (and others)....they hardly ever get a chance to solo! It is a Latin/Funk chart that alternates with straight ahead Swing. The Latin at times has a half-time feel to it. Everybody has some good stuff to do as there are wonderful contrapuntal lines throughout.
