The etudes and duets in this book were composed for the Guitar Soloist to supplement what other material is available. They are studies of harmonic and melodic approaches, modal, chordal, and interval studies that should be analyzed and practiced slowly at first using a metronome and then gradually increasing the tempos, to obtain solid fingerings, dexterity, and acquire the necessary strength and flexibility needed for solo performances.

Also includes an audio CD with two tempo tracks for each etude and duet, played at suggested intermediate and advanced levels. After studying the etudes using a metronome, you should practice each etude by using the audio CD starting at the intermediate levels taking the place of the metronome and gradually working up to the advanced levels.
