There is an a cappella development section for the winds that alludes to classical sensibilities as well as a lyrical written solo for the lead trumpet which goes up to written high G. There are some surprising moments in this piece, as the ensemble plays subito fortissimo stabs, going from extreme soft to extreme loud. Key: Eb Major
