This is a blazing uptempo composition featuring improvised solos for alto saxophone and guitar. This chart is a great vehicle for showing off your band’s skill at navigating the modern bebop style. A virtuosic melody is presented by alto sax, trumpet, and guitar, punctuated by aggressive brass hits. After the solos, the sax section plays a soli followed by a tuneful shout chorus and a recap of the melody. This arrangement was commissioned by Ted Newton and the Moreau Catholic High School Jazz Ensemble. No doubles are required of the saxophones. Top note for lead trumpet is a written high D, and the top note for lead trombone is a written high Bb. 5/4/4/G,P,B,D. Medium Difficult.
