Hello again from ejazzlines!
Hi to everyone out there, and we are back to bring everyone up to date with the many new and exciting items we have added to our site since we last visited.
We are feverishly getting some of our own new charts together to have the Jazz Lines Publications product line even more varied in order to offer all of you
jazz band directors even more choices this upcoming school year. As always, our own charts are in stock and ready for immediate shipping at all times.
We of course will also be offering the newest and best and brightest from all of the wonderful publishers whose world-class charts we carry,
and we will be ready to give you a fantastic selection of new charts this year, along with our usual unparalleled selection of instructional and theory books,
DVDs, and hard-to-find CDs from all over the world.
Continuing June's theme of using our lazy summer days to better ourselves musically, we have several great new books available, and June's DVDs are a
bonanza for guitarists of all styles and levels. Another DVD release of the classic Pat Martino educational videos is perhaps the DVD highlight,
while some of the usual suspects at Hal Leonard and Alfred have been very busy this month as well. For the non-musician and the history-minded, we have a brand new book that is definitely suitable for beach reading,
on the history of Tanglewood, told by many of the participants and folks responsible for that venue's proud legacy.
We do still have the incredible new World of Maynard Ferguson DVD in stock,
and we have gotten excellent feedback from it. We are among the only - if not THE only - folks in the US who have this DVD and we do still have copies in stock as of this writing.
It is not certain how long our supply will hold out, and once it is gone, we have no idea when and if it will be pressed again. We know we have mentioned this several times,
but with the number of Maynard fans ejazzlines is lucky enough to have as customers, we felt we would bring it to everyone's attention one last time.
New DVDs:
June's more recent DVD releases most certainly start with another from Pat Martino. Following the success of the DVD release of Creative Force Complete
comes this week's brand new Quantum Guitar Complete. This combines two of his groundbreaking videos - Advanced Concepts and Analysis of a Tune - into one DVD,
which has been long awaited by Pat's many fans the world over. We also have two new and interesting and hard-to-find DVDs available, one being a unique and well-reviewed documentary of Ken Vandermark.
The other is a DVD featuring Roy Campbell, Arts Interplay. Vocal Basics is a new DVD from a renown instructor
that can help anyone along the difficult path towards proficient jazz singing. Led by Mr. Martino's new one, June's DVDs have an unusual focus on guitar education. We also remind everyone of the new Frank Sinatra retrospective,
and Steve Smith's journey through the legacy of some of jazz's all-time great drummers.
New Books:
Bob Mintzer just had a new book published by Alfred, Playing Jazz Piano. Bob's incredible resume as a musician, arranger and educator makes this a must-have for the aspiring pianist.
Alfred also just released a book for more advanced pianists, Top 10 Jazz Standards, with a very varied songlist,
and three more volumes in the Popular Performer series, books focusing on the Great American Songbook, and the music of Rodgers and Hart
and Johnny Mercer. Hal Leonard's newest are a Bossa Nova Classics play-along,
and Gene Rizzo's latest, West Coast Jazz Piano, which takes a close look at the masters of this popular style.
Pete Sweeney's new book, Drummer's Guide to Fills, should assist most drummers in improving their playing.
And the above-mentioned Tanglewood history, Tanglewood: A Group Memoir, promises to be a very enlightening and unique read.
Please also keep in mind the cream of the books released earlier this month, which includes new play-alongs featuring the music of Miles Davis,
Phil Woods, and Brazilian Jazz,
another Sal Salvador publication titled Complete Book of Single String Studies,
and Paul Smith's Jazz Exercises for the Piano.
Big Band Arrangement Information:
If this summer is anything like every other one, it will fly by and before you know it we'll be getting ready to start school again. Not to rush the summer (who would want to do that?), but as we approach and begin planning for back-to-school time,
we want to take a minute and mention our educational services. We supply band directors all over the world with great big band and small group arrangements - all at discounted prices.
In addition, as an educational customer you'll be able to purchase directly on our website without the need of a credit card. Enter your purchase order number during checkout and we'll bill the school. And, there are some product lines that we only
offer to educators and libraries. The band directors and librarians that purchase from us know how seriously we take our customer service, selection, and pricing. They'll tell you that we mean business. So, if you're an educator and you've
never purchased from us before you're in for a pleasant surprise. Contact us and we'll quickly get you setup with an educational account. It's fast, easy and rewarding.
