Hello again from ejazzlines!

Hi again to everyone from ejazzlines' sunny world headquarters! We are freshly back from our spring vacation, and we extend our most sincere gratitude to everyone out there who was patient with us while we were gone. We did our best to keep up with emails from our far-flung, undisclosed locations, and we send our thanks to those of you who worked with us on issues which needed immediate attention - as we tell folks all the time, we do fully comprehend and appreciate the truly wonderful customer base we are lucky enough to be blessed with. All orders from the last 10 days which are not already on the way will be heading out as soon as possible, and we are gearing up with many new items for the teachers out there who will soon be preparing for the next school year.

We are back and rarin' to go, and we have a brand new Harry Allen CD titled Viva! Bossa Nova just in from Japan which we are sure will pique the interest of many of you. We also have a new Frank Sinatra DVD, brand new play-alongs featuring Phil Woods originals and classics by Miles Davis, and quite a few books which will magically transform time spent lolling on the beach into a musically educational experience. Please check back regularly this month, as we will be keeping up with new releases and adding them to our new release pages on a constant pace to keep up with the spring and summer's newest items.

We would like to once again mention the incredible new World of Maynard Ferguson DVD, one of our best sellers in a long while. This unique release of a long-unavailable program of Maynard and his band was pressed in a very limited edition of 1500 copies worldwide, and we should still have it for about another month. We cannot be certain how long our supply will hold out, and once it is gone, we have no idea when and if it will be pressed again. So Maynard fans, don't wait too much longer for this classic piece of Maynard-abilia!

New DVDs:
June's DVD offerings are led off by a new retrospective on the career of the great Frank Sinatra. This DVD traces much of Frank's long period in the limelight, and also features live footage of him performing several classics. We also have a brand new DVD from drummer Steve Smith, which focuses on the legacy of great drum masters such as Art Blakey, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, and Tony Williams. The DVD also comes with a new live CD from Steve's band. We just got word from Hal Leonard that the popular 4 DVD series Learn to Play Blues Piano is now available as a specially-priced 4-DVD complete set. Finally, we also would like to mention another great new Latin DVD we have, Ways of the Cajon, and a new release of a music documentary from the late 1970s, All You Need is Love, which is a wonderful journey through the history of American popular music.

New Books:
June's books feature brand new play-alongs from the industry leaders at Jamey Aebersold and Hal Leonard, and more releases from Mel Bay's recent flood of great new books and re-issues. Our friends at Aebersold have just released Volumes 121 and 124 from their series, featuring Phil Woods and Brazilian Jazz. These two new entries in their history-making play-along series are sure to be among the most popular, featuring one of jazz's all-time alto greats, as well a challenging selection of various Brazilian styles sure to spice up everyone's playing. Hal Leonard just released their own Volume 79, Miles Davis Classics. They also just released Jazz Standards, an excellent book of transcriptions of piano works by all-time greats. Among the newest from Mel Bay are Jazz Comping for Fingerstyle Guitar, Sal Salvador's Complete Book of Jazz Single String Studies, and Paul Smith's classic Jazz Exercises for the Piano. We recommend these all very highly, and we also just discovered a very interesting sounding book for drummers who really like a well-balanced repertoire, Indian Rhythms for Drumset.

New Big Band Arrangements:
In the last month we've gotten some great new charts in as well as published another one in our Jazz Lines Series. Not for the faint of heart is Rob McConnell's Just Friends. This tour-de-force arrangement from McConnell's 1981 album 'Big Band Jazz, Vol. 1' is guaranteed to wake the dead. Recently transcribed and published is Nelson Riddle's classic arrangement of I Only Have Eyes for You as recorded by Ella Fitzgerald. From the Glenn Miller library comes the publication of Runnin' Wild, a ridiculously fast and difficult version of the tune. And, finally, we have a nice female vocal version of Volare - yes, the audience will be singing along with this one.

New CDs:
As previously mentioned, we do have the new Harry Allen Japanese release in stock: Viva! Bossa Nova. And, as you'd probably guess, it does feature 13 classic Bossa Nova tunes. This is yet another great addition to his catalog. Criss Cross has just released another 4 compelling CDs: Wycliffe Gordon's Boss Bones, Ralph Bowen's Five, Tim Warfield's One for Shirley, and guitarist Mike Moreno's Third Wish. That is a collection of hard-hitting jazz.

New Release Summary:
In our 366-day-a-year (that's right, we did not take Feb 29th off) effort to present all that is new and interesting, as of this newsletter we have added a total of 84 new CDs for the month of June 2008 and 75 for the month of May 2008; 8 new DVDs for June 2008 and 36 for May 2008; 20 new music books for June 2008 and 80 for May 2008; 8 new big band and combo arrangements for the month of June 2008 and 16 for the month of May 2008.

If you haven't visited our Imports and Rarities section lately, please check it out. We are now stocking more and more obscure, rare, and hard-to-find titles from Japan and Europe, including many titles that you may not be able to find elsewhere.

In our DVD section, we now carry nearly 1,650 jazz DVDs!

As always, please keep in mind that many of our new releases are available in limited quantities. We do our best to predict demand and fill orders as quickly as possible, but we do run out of new releases. Even if we run out of stock, almost everything featured in this newsletter should be available to ship within 5-7 days; some imports may take 2-3 weeks.

We thank you all again very sincerely for your continued support, and we send everyone our very best regards!
