Doug DuBoff Biography

Newly-appointed Jazz Education Network Board of Directors member Doug DuBoff is a semi-retired bassist, having played and recorded with many bands, most notably the well-regarded 1990s Seattle groups Bone Cellar and Happy Stars. After graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in history, he moved to Seattle, hoping to cash in on the Grunge bonanza. While his band's CDs were popular in the northwest and very well-reviewed, unfortunately all of the spots for wealthy rock stars were taken by the end of the 1990s, so in 2001 Doug decided to move back to the east coast and start ejazzlines after his brother Rob presented him with the idea. The business has since evolved from a small book and CD seller into a leading publisher and supplier of jazz arrangements from all eras and styles to bands, orchestras, schools, libraries, music stores, and individuals the world over. Jazz Lines Publications' catalog of historic jazz charts featuring Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and dozens more of jazz's biggest names is ejazzlines' proudest accomplishment to date.
