Doug DuBoff Biography

Doug DuBoff is a semi-retired bassist, having played and recorded with many bands, most notably the well-regarded 1990s Seattle groups Bone Cellar and Happy Stars. After graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in history in 1989, he moved to Seattle, hoping to cash in on the then-blooming Grunge bonanza. While his band's CDs were popular in the northwest and very well-reviewed, unfortunately all of the spots for wealthy rock stars were taken by the end of the 1990s, so in 2001 Doug decided to move back to the east coast and start ejazzlines after his brother Rob presented him with the idea. The business has since evolved from a small book and CD seller into a leading supplier of print music and DVDs to bands, schools, libraries, stores, and individuals the world over, and Jazz Lines Publications' new line of charts is perhaps ejazzlines' proudest accomplishment to date.
