Whether your library is just getting started in collecting jazz or you already have a major jazz CD and/or DVD collection, it is always good to step back and compare your holdings against our core collection lists. Here you'll find four levels each of core CDs and DVDs. The first level is the place to start. After you've acquired all the titles in the first level, you should then move on to the second level, then the third, and so on. We have based these core collection lists on our own knowledge of jazz history as well as commonly available guides. While there is plenty of room for debate, we do feel that these lists accurately represent the most historically important jazz recordings and videos.

We are now carrying most of the Mosaic Records box sets. However, we can only provide these to educators and libraries who have accounts with us. If you are already registered with us as an institutional customer, you will be able to see the box sets below and/or search for them.
