Another lovely, but moody, bossa from the pen of Tom Kubis, "A Moment's Afterthought" largely features tenor sax soloist as both melody and improvising soloist. The ensemble accompaniment is delicate, but fairly intricate at times, especially during the early stages of the shout section. Although the brass ranges are fairly manageable, there are some tricky technical lines that they will need to look at. In addition to tenor sax, there is a half-chorus improvised piano solo.
