"A Passing Glance" is a bossa nova with a decidedly sultry bent to it, both melodically and harmonically. The backgrounds are gentle but rich in texture and do a wonderful job of setting an appropriate mood. Even the shout chorus, despite its increase in volume, should still have a relatively aloof and mysterious quality to it. Tenor saxophone is featured throughout as both melody and improvising soloist.
