Lenig, Chad

Primarily a percussionist, Chad studied music education (percussion) with Dr. Kay Stonefelt and composition with Dr. Donald Bohlen at SUNY Fredonia then later completed a masters degree in music technology from the college of St. Rose in Albany. He began playing guitar and singing in his high school years and honed his instrumental skills later as an instrumental music teacher. Lenig's musical interests range from the music of Stravinsky, Stockhausen and Varese to Jewel and then to Coltrane and Chick Corea.

His compositions are often eclectic, usually including a signature twist that may be apparent to all or sometimes require digging to find. He is also the drummer for the Upstate New York band T.S. Ensemble, a band that performs showcases, weddings and large events. Mr. Lenig has also been the 7-12 Band Director at Fonda-Fultonville Central Schools since 2002. He and his colleague Mr. Greg Kowalczyk are also the founders of The Fonda-Fultonville Jazz Festival. The Festival is a large academic Jazz Festival for Middle School and High School Jazz Ensembles. Chad is also an active recording engineer with a fairly large client list. He lives with his wife Kristen, sons Jasper, Zander and dog Riley in Amsterdam NY.
