Edition: Jazz Studio Ensemble Arrangement with Vocal

Description: Swing - Medium Easy

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

This studio ensemble arrangement comes from Ella Fitzgerald's 1956 album Sings the Rodgers and Hart Song Book. Although most of the arrangements from this album were written by Buddy Bregman, we know this arrangement was written by somebody else. However, there is no name on the score and the handwriting is unknown. The arrangement features a woodwind quartet (flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon) and rhythm section backing a vocalist. The original arrangement was written to include the verse (after a four bar introduction). Ella opted to skip the verse and proceed directly from the introduction to the chorus. The 16-bar verse is included in the event that you wish to perform the entire arrangement.

The vocal key is Bb.

This publication was based on the original score from the 1956 recording session - this is not a transcription.
