This blues (using standard blues and bird blues changes) features the upright bass with a cadenza out front and then the melody. This goes into a bass solo with backgrounds. Room for others to solo on the blues changes. An ensemble swapping 4s with the bass ensues. Then a normal ensemble ending with the bass melody played with the bones as well. A bass cadenza at the end. This was written for our dear bass player fiend, the late Dave Stone who was so much part of everyone's life down here in southern Calif. This is a cool chart to feature your soloist upright bass player.
