My Girl, written by Smokey Robinson and Ronald White, was a huge hit for The Temptations, and this tune has become a Motown classic. This arrangement is written with the original '60s version in mind, and sticks closely to the length and feel of the original too. Audiences will instantly recognise the tune from the opening few notes of the intro, and be up ready to dance. This chart is scored for a regular 5/4/4/4 big band line up, and there are no sax doubles. The chart is graded as easy, though the lead Trumpet has to reach high D twice. The vocal key is C, modulating to D.
