Here's a really cool and mellow latin chart from Andy Firth, featuring cameo solo spots from Tenor, trumpet, Trombone and Piano, and suitable for bands of most levels. The melodies are catchy, and all the solos are written out, though your players can improvise from the chords if preferred. The structure of the chart is rhythm intro, sax melody backed by brass 2nd time, brass middle 8 and sax melody. Then comes a little Miller riff bridge, followed by call and response brass - Tenor solo, brass -Trombone solo. The Piano solo follows, then call and response saxes - Trumpet solo. The band takes the D.S. to the middle 8, then a one step modulation to the final chorus, with a final Miller flourish. The brass ranges are very moderate, with lead Trumpet to B, and lead Trombone to G, though Trumpet 2 hits high D for the last note of the solo. There are no sax doubles.
