Here is a transcription of "Early One Morning," taken from Ted Heath's 1958 "Old English" album. This chart contains plenty of tonal color and some excellent sectional writing, as well as solos for Trumpet 2 and Piano which can be played as written or improvised from the chords provided. The original arranger (as yet unknown) has taken what is an otherwise simple folk song and has transformed it into a fine, solid band chart that offers something for players and audiences alike. There are no sax doubles.
