Written for alto saxophonist Sal Lozano, "For Barbara" is a lush ballad arrangement from Tom Kubis that features wonderfully rich backgrounds in the horns and a lovely chord progression and melody line that rank up there with the best of them. The main solo instrument is alto sax, but there is also a brief trumpet solo. Not a technically challenging chart, but certainly a musically challenging one.
