Although most people know me through my association with Duke Ellington's music, one of my earliest influences was Gil Evans. I even did some copying for Gil early on in my career. Although I didn't set out to copy Gil, I think there are similarities in the approach I took in order to convey a pseudo-Indian vibe. If you've got the reed doubles, this is a very different chart.
