Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement with Vocal

Description: Bossa Nova - Medium

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

This arrangement, featuring Jobim on vocals, was created by Nelson Riddle and featured on the 1965 album The Wonderful World of Antonio Carlos Jobim. This song was originally known as Empty Vista and was listed as Useless Landscape on the album release. When English lyrics were written it became known as If You Never Come to Me. This beautiful arrangement features 4 flutes, trumpet/flugelhorn, 3 horns in F, and 4 trombones along with 3 violins, viola, cello, nylon string guitar, celeste (optional), bass, and drums. Riddle specifies 9 violins, 2 violas, and 3 celli and provided the exact divisi instructions (which have been included). The melody line is cued in an optional piano part so that this may be alternately played as an instrumental. There is an 8-bar flugelhorn solo that is played as-written.
