This showcase for two trombones, dedicated to the late great J.J. Johnson, features moderate brass ranges and accessible up-swing rhythms. To properly complement the energetic solo lines, it should be played with a light feel at the indicated tempo (quarter note=192). An optional 5th Trombone part is included, plus an alternate 1st Tenor part (substitute for the 2nd trombone solo part). Trumpet 1 to one written high Eb. This piece appears on the John Fedchock New York Big Band recording Up & Running. Medium difficult.
