Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement

Description: Swing - Difficult

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

This was arranged by Gerry Mulligan in 1947 for the Claude Thornhill Orchestra. This chart remained in the band book and was performed and recorded a number of times over the years. Written to feature pianist and leader Claude Thornhill, this chart is full of the rhythmic and harmonic sophistication that Mulligan later became known for. Featured also are solos for tenor saxophone and trumpet. This was arranged for 3 trumpets, 2 horns in F, 2 trombones and tuba. We have included optional 4th trumpet and 3rd trombone parts that may be used instead of the horn parts. But, if you have horns available we strongly suggest using them instead of the alternate brass parts.
