This straight-8ths original begins and ends the exact same way - with a steady, pulsing rhythmic tap from the piano, with the ensemble either swelling up and around it (at the beginning) or decaying away into it (at the end). In between, there are several complex contrapuntal figures that intertwine amongst each other. The dynamics should be executed as subtly as possible so the louder sections really stand out from the rest of the chart, especially following the guitar solo. Solos are for alto sax and guitar, but an optional alternate tenor saxophone part is included if your band does not have a guitarist.
