In many ways, Samba De Los Me is a perfect summary of the sound of the West Coast jazz scene of the late 1970s/early 1980s. Tom Kubis's briskly-paced samba features pleasant, amenable harmonies, a catchy melody, and an unmistakable rhythmic drive throughout. The performance builds from beginning to end, through an exciting shout chorus and ultimately culminating in one big unison blast at the end. There is a solo section for alto sax and flugelhorn midway through that can easily be opened up if your ensemble would like to do so. NO SCORE.
