Tom Kubis' arrangement of "School Days" does a great job of capturing the nostalgic whimsy of the song's lyrics while providing some clever modern updates. The melody is played twice - first handled by the saxes with a single trumpet on top, with the whole ensemble passing phrases between each other on the second go-round. The post-solo section shout chorus slowly builds in intensity while never losing its easy sense of swing. Solos are for trumpet and baritone sax.
