Features trumpet and trombone with modal solos, and drums. Solos have long arcs supported by colorful and contrapuntal background lines that emerge to take over in episodic shout choruses. I wrote this while recovering from shoulder surgery in 2008, and it definitely has its spikey moments. I rate it as an advanced high-energy concert performance work. Trpt. 1 to written high D.
