Song For Kate was composed by renowned classical guitar artist John Wynn and arranged by John Wasson for the Chronicles CD. Beginning with a beautiful bossa nova melody is played by guitar and 4 flutes accompanied by muted brass, the arrangement showcases solos by guitar and flute, and features a solo by the drummer exchanging phrases with the rest of the band. Alto saxophones and tenor saxophones all double on flute and baritone saxophone doubles on bass clarinet.
