This chart has been transcribed from the recording that Benny Goodman made with his Orchestra in April 1951 for the Columbia label. The band consisted of Goodman, 5 reeds, 7 brass and 4 rhythm. The arrangement has been modified to 8 brass and 5 saxes (AAATT) with the 1st Alto taking the clarinet lines. All of the original solos are written out in full, and we have written the trumpet solo on the trumpet 3 part. This is a great Goodman chart and a fine musical evolution in the Fletcher Henderson style, and it swings hard from start to finish.
