This trumpet feature of Stardust is one of the first new charts I wrote for the Diva Jazz Orchestra and our first commercial recording (Something's Coming on Perfect Sound PSCD-1216). It featured our fantastic lead trumpet player Liesl (Sagartz) Whittaker and first tenor Virginia Mayhew who have both gone on to very successful careers in the music world. Also, Lolly Bienenfeld skillfully leads the trombone section on a soli of Jack Jenny's transcribed solo from Artie Shaw's hit on this Hoagy Carmichael classic.

I've augmented the chart to four trombones and re-scored the original four flute introduction to the more conventional woodwind doubles of two flutes and two clarinets. Also included are alternate sax parts that replace the flutes & clarinets for those bands without this capability.
