Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement

Description: Swing - Difficult

Publisher: Walrus Music Publishing

This arrangement, from the John Fedchock New York Big Band album "Like It Is," was commissioned for the Clifford Brown Symposium. All the thematic material for the composition was drawn exclusively from Clifford's compositions and solos. The seemingly cryptic title comes from the simple abbreviation of Clifford's October 30, 1930 birthdate. The opening exposition of themes trades off with piano. Featured are trumpet, trombone, and tenor saxophone solos. The tenor solos through an evolving vamp that leads to the final ensemble statement. There are no saxophone doubles.
