Edward Perez's "The Year of Two Summers" features a wide variety of feels throughout. Starting off with an Afro-Cuban groove, it shifts around between straight-ahead swing and even some 7/4. There is quite a bit of counterpoint throughout, so your players should always be aware of how they line up with the rest of the ensemble. Also be warned that your trombonists will have to do a little bit of singing as well!
