Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement

Description: Swing - Medium

Publisher: Lush Life Music

Originally written and arranged by Buck Clayton, this chart has been transcribed from Basie's 1952 Clef recording (89085). It is an up-tempo swinger featuring improvised solos from Clarinet (Alto 2), Tenor, Trumpet and Trombone, with Basie's Piano intro and little licks and fills written out on the part. Aside from the opening and the close, the Bass part is to be played from the chords. This chart echoes the early Basie riff-style of chart, coupled with a shout chorus that is more in line with his later recordings. Aside from Alto 2 on Clarinet there are no sax doubles.
