This composition, in four uninterrupted movements, is a suite based upon the sounds of 1960s detective television scores. It includes musical representations of a mysterious search for clues, a jazz club complete with a femme fatale, a police chase scene, and a capture which brings all the themes back into play for the finale. Moving through a multitude styles and changes, the work is a fast-paced colorful example of genre writing for big band with solo space for alto sax, piano, drums, and percussion.
