Tom Kubis' take on the Christmas classic "Joy to the World" is a rousing Samba and a great tune to open a Christmas concert with. Featuring soprano saxophone as the primary soloist, the melody is played in multiple different musical styles, ranging from joyous and boistrous to more introspective and mellow. Be sure to keep an eye out for the occasional 2/4 measures scattered throughout the performance. Although generally not overly difficult, there are a few rangey moments for the trumpet and trombone sections alike.
