Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement with Vocal

Description: Ballad - Medium Difficult

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

Hoagy Carmichael composed Stardust in 1927 with Mitchell Parrish adding lyrics a year later. Nat Cole recorded this Gordon Jenkins arrangement in Los Angeles on December 28, 1956 for the Love Is the Thing album. This recording is perhaps the definitive performance of this standard.

Jenkins's arrangement calls for 16 violins, 3 violas, and one cello. The violins are evenly split between four parts. The vocal key is G.

This publication was prepared using the original score and the set of parts used during the 1956 recording session - this is not a transcription.
