I start the arrangement with a presentation of the Carol of the Bells. The only problem is that I wrote it in 4 and not 3! The Carol gives way to what I would call a 'trip-hop' beat, but any kind of funk/go-go beat will work. In the middle (rather than a shout chorus or tutti band section), I composed a section where I layer in a couple of melodies and weave them in and out of each other. All of it gives way to a bari sax solo then in the next section a trombone (or rhythm section) solo. It all wraps up with a return of the Carol of the Bells. The 4 out of 3 section of this chart is downright difficult but really nice if you can pull it off. I put this chart at a strong 5.
