This blues arrangement works on several things for an advanced High School ensemble. 1st, it helps open the students ears up to odd meter, with easy reading bass and drum lines. 2nd, the horn melody lines are great for working on thick modern harmonies against rhythmically active melodic lines. There are some nice modern sax lines after the solo sections.

SOLOS: The first solo section offers a more challenging chord progression for the student, using a more modern approach to blues substitutions. The second solo section offers an easier and more traditional approach to the blues progression. contents - for larger bands, doubling parts is OK.
