Gray, Glen

Glen Gray's most notable accomplishment in the world of jazz came from his capacity as the leader of the Casa Loma Orchestra, one of the most renowned territory bands of the 1920s and 1930s. A number of notable swing musicians came through the ranks of this band, including singer Betty George and trumpeter/arranger Salvador "Tutti" Camarata. Although he retired from touring in 1950, Gray would revisit the biggest hits of his band's heyday in 1956 with the studio album "Casa Loma in Hi-Fi."
