Edition: Jazz Big Band Arrangement
Description: Swing - Medium
Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications
This swing arrangement was written by Thad Jones for Count Basie's 1959 album titled 'Dance Along with Basie.' The album featured arrangements by Thad and Frank Foster. The chart opens with a short intro followed by the whole ensemble stating the melody. There is a trumpet solo and piano solo before the band comes back in. Thad has done a great job of reinventing this tune with great harmonies and swinging melodic lines.
