USMC (Up State Medical Center) is where I composed this composition while I was recovering. The doctors, nurses and staff were the kindest people I met. I dedicate this composition to every one who helped me recover.

USMC is a swing chart with a lot of open solo space. For high school and college students this chart gives them the experience to learn the skills needed to play in a jazz ensemble. They will gain an understanding of playing with good intonation, who and how to listen to each other, how to blend in a section etc.

This chart is fun to play and the audience will love it. It is not often one can find a chart that is educational and is gratifying to play.
