Following up on their success with the In the Christmas Mood I and II, the Glenn Miller Orchestra once again turned to arranger Dave Wolpe to write arrangements of patriotic songs for album that was to be called In the Patriotic Mood. Unfortunately, the recording session never took place. However, these fabulous arrangements - written in the Glenn Miller style - are now available! The titles that were to be on the album are: Amazing Grace, America the Beautiful, Battle Hymn of the Republic, George M Cohan Medley, God Bless America, the Peace Song, Salute to the Armed Forces, Stars and Stripes Forever, The Star Spangled Banner, and This Is My Country. All of these titles are available individually.

This arrangement of Amazing Grace features a vocal group of boys and girls and allows both the vocal group and the ensemble to shine. The arrangement starts in D and modulates through each key up to F. Woodwind 1 is on clarinet and woodwind 5 is on alto saxophone throughout.
