Written for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Andy Farber's arrangement of the Dave Brubeck standard In Your Own Sweet Way utilizes a number of Gil Evans-style orchestration techniques. Featuring a large amount of cross-sectional writing and woodwind doubling, it's important for all players to know where their parts line up in the greater picture. Alto saxophone is the primary featured improvised soloist, but there are numerous written individual melodies that can be interpreted somewhat freely. Features solos for alto saxophone and bass.
