Edition: Jazz Studio Orchestra Arrangement with Vocal

Description: Swing - Medium

Publisher: Jazz Lines Publications

This Axel Stordahl arrangement was recorded in Hollywood in 1950 for Columbia Records. The original recorded arrangement featured Sinatra's vocals with accompaniment by string and rhythm sections with a trumpet soloist (Billy Butterfield provided the trumpet solo). Sometime after the recording, the arrangement was expanded to include woodwinds and brass. Sinatra used this expanded arrangement for touring. However, these added parts are optional. The vocal key starts in Ab and modulates to A.

This arrangement was prepared using Axel Stordahl's original pencil score and the set of parts used during the 1950 recording session: this is not a transcription.
