Following up on their success with the In the Christmas Mood I and II, the Glenn Miller Orchestra once again turned to arranger Dave Wolpe to write arrangements of patriotic songs for album that was to be called In the Patriotic Mood. Unfortunately, the recording session never took place. However, these fabulous arrangements - written in the Glenn Miller style - are now available! The titles that were to be on the album are: Amazing Grace, America the Beautiful, Battle Hymn of the Republic, George M Cohan Medley, God Bless America, the Peace Song, Salute to the Armed Forces, Stars and Stripes Forever, The Star Spangled Banner, and This Is My Country. All of these titles are available individually.

This arrangement of Stars and Stripes Forever is a fabulous jazz up-tempo swing interpretation of the John Philip Sousa march, written in 1896. Written for a standard big band with alto sax 1 briefly doubling on piccolo (optional).
